Dussehra 2011 - Navratri is one of the biggest and auspicious festivals of Hindu religion celebrated across India. The word 'Navratri' literally means 'Nine Nights'. The festival is known to be a dedication to the worship of Mother Goddess. During the Navratri, the three aspects of Goddess - Durga, Lakshmi and Sarawati taht symbolises destructive, protective and knowledge respectively, are worshipped. Special pujas are undertaken on each of these nine days. Also the devotees of Goddess observe fasting for the nine days, relying completely on fruits. During Navratri, people worship the Goddess at temple as well in their homes, with programs known as 'Jagaran'.
