Amar Singh, MP Rajya Sabha and former member of Samajwadi Party was arrested today and was kept in judicial custody till September 19th for his alleged involvement in the 'cash-for-vote' scandal that shook Parliament in 2008. At about 12.35 p.m. Amar Singh arrived at the Tis-Hazari-Court, much to the surprise of the Judge,Ms. Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, the media as well as the court staff.
