Milad-un-Nabi is also known as "Barawafat" or "Mawlid", The word 'Barah' stands for the twelve days of the Prophet's (S.A.S) sickness. According to Islamic calendar, it is the day on which the Islamic prophet Mohammad (S.A.S) took birth, the day "Holy Quran" was revealed by the Prophet Mohammad (S.A.S) and also marked as the day on which He (S.A.S) died.
