Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL) was established in 1979 by the Government of Tami Nadu for the production of Newsprint and Printing under the provisions of the Companies Act of 1956. Raw material like bagasse, a sugarcane residue are used for printing and writing Papers. In 1984, TNPL started its production with an initial capacity of 90,000 tonnes per annum. Presently, the TNPL is one the largest bagasse based Paper Mill in the World.
